Behind those walls you hide, right behind them beautiful smiles you conceal something from the ever curious and evasive eyes. The real you we are yet to meet, because what you say here is different from what you believe when you are behind those walls.

You defend a course, preach passionately about an issue, you look happy and fulfilled to everyone, but within you and behind closed doors you tell yourself the truth. We all assume to know ourselves and some even go as far as placing their trust in the hands of their fellow mortal believing they are what they claim they are.

Only you know who you really are behind those walls, because there and there you lay it bear, the truth reveals its nakedness since there is no other eyes to behold it. A young man looks a woman deep in the eyes and tell her he will bring down the moon, the teary eyes also comes as a needed device to convince this innocent heart, but behind those walls you know no iota of affection dwells in your heart for her.

You claim to be holy and pure, so pure that you are compared to the small gods of the land, everything around you speaks louder than what truly resides deep inside you. Behind those walls, the humanness and carelessness you carry comes alive and finds a beautiful expression.

A sweet smile is your garment of camouflage, your jokes are powerful decoys, and the image you portray is just a well-placed mirage. All of these are the arsenal you use in painting a picture of make believe, but right there behind those walls  you feel the deluge of emptiness and lies that abide deep down the root of your soul.
